Implementation, registration of unorganized workers on e-SHRAM Portal reviewed at Shopian

SHOPIAN,  Oct  30 ( KINS): The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Samnani today reviewed the implementation and registration of unorganized workers on the National Database for Unorganised Workers (NDUW)/ e-SHRAM portal in the district.

On the occasion, threadbare discussions was held and Assistant Commissioner Labour,  Shopian, Abdul Majid Tantrey gave a detailed  presentation about the use of the e-SHRAM Portal. He apprised the chair that till date 2500 unorganized workers have been registered in the district since the launch of the e-SHRAM portal by central government.

The ADC said that the e-SHRAM portal launched by the Government is aimed at facilitating better execution of various Social Security schemes for all unorganised sector workers. He said the portal will not only register unorganised workers but also be helpful in delivering various social security schemes being implemented by the Government.

He directed the concerned to achieve the target before December-20 this year so that the beneficiaries get benefitted under the scheme. He also instructed the stressed officers to ensure holding of regular registration camps at the district and CSC level for the unorganised workers.

The ADC said such awareness camps would prove helpful to disseminate Information, Education and Communication (IEC) amongst the prospective beneficiaries of e-SHRAM and their implementation through the Labour and Employment department and other official machinery.

He also said that the beneficiaries will get the benefit of PMSBY for 1 year of Rs 2 lakh for accidental death and full disability and Rs. 1 lakh for partial disability.

The ADC further asked the concerned officers to work in proper coordination in monitoring of mobilisation of target sub-groups of unorganised workers like MGNREGA workers, SHG members under NRLM and NULM, street vendors, Auto drivers, construction (BOCW) workers, mid-day meal workers, domestic workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Agricultural labourers, Fishermen and Brick-kiln workers through respective line departments for registration under e-SHRAM in terms of defined targets.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the   General Manager DIC, Programme Officer, ICDS, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, AD Fisheries ,ACD, District Programme Manager NRLM , Block Development Officers, District Information Officer, District informatics officer, Executive officer MC Shopian and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.( KINS)
