UNESCO tag milestone achievement for Srinagar: Mayor

Srinagar, , NOV 9 ( KINS) Mayor, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Junaid Azim Mattu on Tuesday said UNESCO tag is a milestone achievement for Srinagar.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, the Mayor said getting UNESCO tag is a big milestone for Srinagar district. He said the SMC in this regard have decided to go for a month-long celebratory events.
He was accompanied by SMC Commissioner Athar Amir Khan, Director Handicraft & Handloom Kashmir Mehmood Shah, Chief Town Planner Iftikhar Ahmad and Chairman INTACH Mohammad Saleem Beg.
The Mayor said the SMC along with other institutions of the Jammu & Kashmir had put strenuous efforts to ensure this dream come true.
“We have achieved this milestone after a lot of hardwork and dedication. We have been pursuing this since 2018 and finally after the hard work and serious efforts by SMC Commissioner and other officers concerned, we have finally achieved the milestone”, Mattu said.( KINS)
