Principal Secretary visits SCERT divisional office Jammu; reviews functioning

 

JAMMU, DECEMBER 4 ( KINS): Principal Secretary, School Education, B K Singh, today visited State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) divisional office, Jammu, to take stock of functioning of the institute.

State Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj, Joint Director Planning School Education Department, Madan Gopal Sharma and other officers of School Education Department accompanied the Principal Secretary.

Director SCERT, Professor Veena Pandita, briefed the Principal Secretary about the structure, mandate and the initiatives being taken up by the institute.

Principal Secretary interacted with the faculty members of SCERT and shared his experiences, expertise and suggestions laying focus on content enrichment training programmes which will in turn enhance the competency of the teachers on ground. ‘Since SCERT has the mandate to conduct training programmes and research, SCERT has the core responsibility of framing and conducting such kind of training programmes that will focus on addressing the achievement gaps of teachers’, he added.( KINS)
