*False Video News Alleging Involvement of DSP Adil Mushtaq in the Kokernag Terror Incident; Police*

Srinagar, Oct 03: Police on Tuesday said that a video news item on suspended DySP Shiekh Aadil regarding his involvement in the Kokernag encounter is baseless and has no truth to this video news.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, quoted by Kashmir Police Zone on X as per news agency Kashmir Scroll wrote that it has come to notice that a video news item has been uploaded purportedly issued by a news agency by the name of Bharat TAK, suggesting that DSP Adil Mushtaq is involved in the Kokernag terror incident as an insider betrayal.
The tweet reads that there is no truth to this video news. DSP Adil Mushtaq is being investigated for an entirely different case in Srinagar district and not in Anantnag. This type of irresponsible journalism is also an act of criminal misconduct and is liable for legal action.
Pertinent to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir Government on Sunday ordered suspension of two senior police officers including DySp Shiekh Adil who was recently arrested in corruption case in Srinagar. (KS)
