Srinagar, Feb 04: In the ongoing Khelo India Winter Games 2024, Varsha Puranik and Nayana Sri Talluri showcased exceptional performances, securing gold medals in ice-skating.
Puranik claimed victory in the 500m short-track race for women above 17 years, while Talluri triumphed in the women’s Under-17 category.
Maharashtra clinched their first ice-skating gold through Aarav Patwardhan in the men’s under-17 500 meters short track event. Karnataka maintains its lead in the medal standings with four golds.
Meanwhile, in ice hockey, Army and Ladakh men advanced to the semifinals, while ITBP and Himachal Pradesh secured spots in the last-four stage.
Hosts Ladakh and ITBP are poised to vie for the gold in the women’s division.
The competition continues to captivate spectators as intense matchups unfold at the NDS Stadium and Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre.
