Sopore Police Seizes Properties of Notorious Drug Peddler Worth Lakhs

Sopore, 15 May 2024: In a significant move to combat drug trafficking and eradicate its menace from society, Sopore police have seized properties of a notorious drug peddler worth lakhs.
Today, Sopore Police attached a one-story residential house valued at approximately 16 lakhs and 10 marlas of land valued at approximately 5 lakhs in the village of Reban under the NDPS Act 1985.
The properties belong to Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie, a resident of Reban, Sopore. An investigation revealed that these assets were acquired through the proceeds of drug sales and were used for illicit trafficking.
By targeting and freezing the illegal assets of those involved in the organized narco trade, the police have dealt a severe blow to their criminal activities. Depriving criminals of their proceeds from drug trafficking is essential in curbing their influence and crippling the drug trade in the valley.
The general public has appreciated the police’s action in protecting them from the devastating effects of drug abuse and trafficking.
