Water Quality Team Inspects Filter Plant in Doda Town

DODA, MAY 16: Following directives from Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, the Water Quality Assessment Team visited the Water Filter Plant in Doda Town to evaluate the drinking water quality and identify potential contaminants or hazards.

Led by Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Er Sudesh Kumar Bhagat, the team closely monitored the water testing process and engaged with the lab staff to ensure compliance with established protocols. They explained their responsibility for identifying all drinking water sources within Doda, Bhaderwah, and Thathri, including public taps, bore wells, reservoirs, and private wells. Water samples were collected from the Filter Plant Manchain Doda, with strict chain-of-custody procedures followed for proper record-keeping and regulatory compliance. Comprehensive testing will be conducted to identify any health risks.

The assessment team included Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist), Sanjeev Rana (I/c Legal), Faizan A Tramboo (I/c District Media Desk Health Dept.), and Shabir Ahmed (In-Charge Sanitary Inspector), along with other Jal Shakti Department officials under the guidance of CMO Dr. Om Kumar. Their collective expertise ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and reliability of the data for public health and safety.

This visit highlights the local authorities’ commitment to ensuring safe drinking water, part of a broader initiative to promote public health and hygiene in the region, demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing potential water contamination risks.
