Srinagar Police File FIR for Posting Sensitive Content

Srinagar, June 06: Srinagar Police has taken swift action against a student of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar for posting content deemed sensitive and offensive to the religious sentiments of a particular community.
Upon receiving a formal complaint from the GMC Srinagar administration, an FIR has been registered under FIR No. 13/24, citing sections 153, 153A, 295A, and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code at the Karanagar Police Station.
The incident, dated June 6, 2024, has prompted the authorities to issue a public appeal urging citizens to refrain from spreading rumors or false information. The police have warned against falling prey to the false propaganda of anti-social elements and have assured that legal action will be taken against individuals involved in provocative acts or instigation.
