BJP MP Lauds J&K Police Chief’s Achievements, “Ridicules Mehbooba’s Claims”

Srinagar, July 17: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, has publicly challenged and ridiculed former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for her recent criticisms of the Jammu and Kashmir police force and its Director General of Police, R.R. Swain.
Khatana as per BJP Jammu and Kashmir, stated, “If you have any issues with the DGP, come with facts. Making such statements is inappropriate, especially when our soldiers are losing their lives fighting terrorism.”
“Er. Khatana dismissed Mufti’s allegations of a lack of accountability within the police force as baseless. “Mufti’s assertion that ‘there is no accountability’ and that ‘the DGP should have been sacked’ is entirely unfounded. On the contrary, DGP Swain has proven to be an exceptionally competent officer who has revolutionized the police department and its operations,” he declared”.
In a robust defense of Swain, “the BJP leader accused Mehbooba Mufti of engaging in political character assassination. “Mehbooba’s statement is a political character assassination of an upright and honest officer like R.R. Swain,” he asserted”.
Highlighting the achievements of Swain’s tenure, Khatana detailed the numerous accomplishments in combating terrorism and crime under his leadership. “Under his leadership, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have dismantled major terrorist networks and made significant progress in tackling narco-terrorism, organized crime, drugs mafia, and corruption. Swain’s proactive strategies have substantially strengthened regional security,” he stated.
