Srinagar Sep 07 (KINS):To assess the security scenario and preparedness for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024, DIG SKR Anantnag, Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS, conducted an important visit to Shopian district. He chaired a detailed meeting with Shopian Police officers and CAPF personnel at the Conference Hall, DPO Shopian.
During the meeting, SSP Shopian, Anayat Ali Choudhary-IPS, presented a comprehensive report on security measures, including enforcement of the model code of conduct, security plans for candidates and strong rooms, transport and communication strategies, and the role of SSTs and FSTs.
The meeting also focused on strategies to counter threats from OGWs and ANEs, ensuring a peaceful election process. DIGP SKR Anantnag emphasized the need for heightened alertness and vigilance, urging officers to strengthen the security grid and ensure a smooth and incident-free election.(KINS)
