Srinagar, Oct 05 (KINS): In a large-scale operation across multiple states, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operative, Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi, during searches conducted in connection with a conspiracy case. The raids, which took place across 26 locations in Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Jammu & Kashmir, are part of NIA’s ongoing investigation into JeM’s terror-related activities.
Ayubi was apprehended for his role in case RC-13/2024/NIA/DLI and will be presented before the NIA Special Court at Patiala House, New Delhi. Several other suspects have also been detained for questioning, with NIA teams seizing incriminating documents, electronic devices, and propaganda materials during the searches. These items are being analyzed for further leads.
The suspects were reportedly involved in radicalizing individuals, recruiting youth, and spreading terror propaganda in connection with JeM’s activities. The NIA stated that these operatives were motivating youth to carry out violent terrorist attacks across India.
The raids were conducted in locations including Goalpara (Assam), Aurangabad, Jalna, Malegaon (Maharashtra), Meerut and Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Delhi, Baramulla, Pulwama, and Ramban (Jammu & Kashmir). Investigations are ongoing.(KINS)
