PM Modi Hails GatiShakti as a Transformative Initiative for India’s Infrastructure

NEW DELHI, Oct 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan as a groundbreaking initiative transforming India’s infrastructure landscape and driving faster, more efficient development across various sectors.

Launched on October 13, 2021, the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP) aims to provide multimodal connectivity infrastructure to various economic zones. The initiative focuses on seven key sectors—railways, roads, ports, waterways, airports, mass transport, and logistics infrastructure—to foster economic growth and sustainable development.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Modi stated, “PM GatiShakti National Master Plan has emerged as a transformative initiative aimed at revolutionizing India’s infrastructure. It has significantly enhanced multimodal connectivity, driving faster and more efficient development across sectors.”

The prime minister emphasized how the seamless integration of various stakeholders has boosted logistics, reduced delays, and created new opportunities for people. “Thanks to GatiShakti, India is adding speed to fulfill our vision of a Viksit Bharat. It will encourage progress, entrepreneurship, and innovation,” he added.

Modi’s remarks followed a post by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, celebrating the third anniversary of the GatiShakti initiative. Goyal stated, “Today marks 3 years since the launch of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity by PM Narendra Modi ji. By streamlining logistics and advancing connectivity, this path-breaking initiative ensures faster and more efficient project implementation.”

Goyal further noted that GatiShakti continues to play a pivotal role in building a modern, interconnected infrastructure network, reinforcing the vision of a developed (Viksit) Bharat.
