People vote without discrimination for first time in J&K, reject separatism & terrorism to strengthen democracy: PM Modi

Srinagar, Oct 31 (KINS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have decisively turned away from ‘separatism and terrorism, instead embracing democracy through the power of their vote’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that the elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir without discrimination since India’s independence 75 years ago.
Addressing the nation on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas as per news agency KINS, PM Modi noted that this moment marks the first time a Chief Minister in J&K has taken the oath under the Constitution of India.
Speaking from Kevadia, Gujarat, during the Unity Day celebrations, PM said, “Today, the patriotic people of J&K have made the Constitution and democracy victorious,”
Modi honored the spirit of the voters in Jammu and Kashmir, saying, “On Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, I salute the people of J&K with all reverence.”
Highlighting the country’s journey over the past decade, Modi remarked that India has addressed numerous challenges to national unity and sovereignty.
He sent a strong message to those threatening the country’s peace, stating, “Today, terrorists know that if they attack, India will not spare them.” (KINS)
