Srinagar, Jan 21 (KINS): Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu & Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, IPS, accompanied by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, IPS, and senior officials, conducted an extensive review of border preparedness in the Samba-Kathua belt.
The team visited multiple forward posts along the International Border (IB), assessed operational readiness, and examined key security measures such as fencing, patrolling, and surveillance equipment.
The review focused on reinforcing coordination between various security agencies, including the BSF and CRPF, to prevent infiltration attempts and strengthen border defense mechanisms.
The DGP laid a wreath at the memorial of martyr Assistant Commandant Vinay, honoring his sacrifice. The visit underscored the importance of proactive measures like night patrolling and real-time intelligence sharing to thwart cross-border threats.
The delegation also visited SOG camps near the border to ensure the welfare and operational efficiency of the forces guarding the frontier. The DGP emphasized a holistic approach, combining technology, manpower, and community engagement to bolster the security framework and ensure the safety of citizens.(KINS)
