DIG SKR Anantnag chairs security review meeting at Railway Station Wanpoh, Anantnag

Srinagar, March 05 (KINS): To discuss and review the current railway security scenario, identify threats and vulnerabilities, and formulate strategies for enhancing railway security, DIG SKR Anantnag, Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo (IPS), chaired a security review meeting at Railway Station Wanpoh, Anantnag.

The meeting was attended by Cdr. Sector 1RR Khanabal, Shri Prithvi Raj; SSP Kulgam, Shri Sahil Sarangal (IPS); SSP GRP Kashmir; CO SDRF 1BN; CO 90 BN CRPF; Dy. Director F&ES Anantnag; Sr. Divisional Security Commissioner RPF Srinagar; Addl. SP NHW Qazigund; DySP CID SB Anantnag; DySP CID CI Kulgam; DCIO Anantnag; BMO Anantnag, and other senior officers from the Police, Army, and CRPF.

Various aspects of railway security and coordination between all stakeholders, in line with SOPs issued by the railway headquarters and contingency plans, were discussed. DIG SKR emphasized the need to regularly review and strengthen security measures while formulating effective counterinsurgency strategies for railway stations, trains, and passengers.

Officers present gave detailed presentations on the security arrangements in place for public safety, law and order, preparedness for anti-terrorist operations, and other critical issues.

DIG SKR also stressed the importance of securing vulnerable targets and ensuring foolproof security arrangements. He directed officers to closely monitor sensitive areas to prevent any miscreant activity. During the meeting, an action plan and strategies were formulated to enhance railway security, addressing identified threats and vulnerabilities.(KINS)
