Meteorological Dept forecasts weather improvement from March 16

Srinagar, Mar 12 (KINS): The Meteorological Department has stated that weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir are expected to improve starting from the afternoon of March 16.

An official report as per KINS indicated that intermittent light to moderate rains and snow over higher reaches will likely continue until March 15. The department further mentioned that on March 16, there may be light rain and snow in some areas during the morning, followed by an improvement in weather conditions later in the afternoon.

However, the official cautioned that landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones could occur at vulnerable locations during this period.

From March 17 to 21, the weather is expected to remain generally dry.

The official urged travelers, tourists, and transporters to stay updated on advisories from the administration and traffic department. Farmers have been advised to suspend farm operations until March 16 to avoid any weather-related disruptions.

Additionally, the public has been advised to avoid areas prone to avalanches and landslides.(KINS)
