Light snow forecast for North Kashmir, dry weather likely from April 4

Srinagar, Apr 2 (KINS): The Meteorological Department has forecast light snowfall over the higher reaches of north Kashmir and the Sonamarg-Zojila axis on April 3, while predicting dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir from April 4 to 7.

An official stated that the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy on the afternoon of April 3, with a possibility of light snow in higher-altitude areas. However, conditions are likely to remain dry in the following days.

According to the forecast, scattered light snowfall and isolated showers are expected between April 8 and 11. “On April 8, cloudy weather is expected in the afternoon, with light snow possible over north Kashmir and Sonamarg. From April 9 to 10, the region will see generally cloudy skies with light rain and snow over higher reaches at scattered places in Kashmir and isolated areas in Jammu,” the official said.

He added that on April 11, light rain and snow may occur in isolated areas during the morning, followed by an improvement in weather conditions.

Travelers, tourists, and transporters have been advised to follow weather and traffic advisories issued by the administration.

Meanwhile, farmers have been encouraged to continue their agricultural activities as planned.(KINS)
