DGP J&K Chairs Joint Security Review Meeting Ahead of Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025

Anantnag, June 30, (KINS): Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat (IPS), today chaired a high-level Joint Security Review Meeting at Range Police Headquarters, Anantnag, to assess the overall security situation in South Kashmir, with special focus on the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2025.

Following the meeting, the DGP, accompanied by Special DGP Coordination SJM Geelani (IPS), IGP Security J&K Sujit Kumar (IPS), DIGP South Kashmir Range, and other senior officers, conducted an extensive field visit of critical areas along the Yatra route in and around Pahalgam. The DGP inspected the Yatra Base Camps at Nunwan and Chandanwari, carried out a thorough security audit, and reviewed the deployment of forces and logistical arrangements to ensure all infrastructure, personnel, and facilities are in place for a smooth and secure pilgrimage.

A detailed security review meeting was also held at Pahalgam, chaired by the DGP and attended by senior officers from the Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, intelligence agencies, CID, Traffic Police, SDRF, Telecommunication, Security Wing, and Fire & Emergency Services. The DGP reviewed the current security posture and directed all agencies to enhance preparedness against potential threats, with a particular focus on law and order along the Pahalgam axis.

In his concluding remarks, the DGP stressed the importance of seamless coordination and synergy among all security forces and agencies to ensure the peaceful, safe, and successful conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025.(KINS)
