The rate of cognizable crimes stood at 184.3 per lakh in 2023, with chargesheeting improving to 79.1 percent.

The Union Territory recorded 84 murder cases involving 101 victims, 1,004 kidnapping cases, 231 rape cases, 1,352 assault cases against women, and 70 sexual harassment cases in 2023.
