Home Minister Amit Shah to review J&K security and post- flood rehabilitation today; Top UT officials reach New Delhi to attend meeting

Srinagar, Oct 09 (KINS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair an important high-level meeting in New Delhi today to review the security situation, post-flood rehabilitation, and progress of Central projects in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will attend the meeting, besides Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Home Secretary Chandraker Bharti, and Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat have already reached New Delhi to attend the meeting.

The meeting will discuss key issues such as rehabilitation of flood-hit areas, law and order, and coordination between central and UT agencies.

Top officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), including Home Secretary Govind Mohan, will join the discussions along with heads of paramilitary forces like the BSF and CRPF, and senior officers from Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

The Home Minister is expected to review counter-terror operations, border security, and implementation of development projects, and may issue new directions to speed up both security and reconstruction efforts in the Union Territory.

Interestingly, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is also in New Delhi, though it is unclear if he will attend the meeting.

Sources said there has been no confirmation regarding his participation so far.

Sources said Amit Shah is likely to seek detailed updates on Security flood rehabilitation, infrastructure rebuilding, and coordination between civil and security departments to ensure smooth execution of Central initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
