Srinagar, Nov 06 (KINS): Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, IPS, chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess the prevailing security situation in the Valley and outline strategies to further strengthen the security and intelligence grid.
The meeting was attended by Spl. DG Coordination J&K S.J.M. Gillani, IGP Kashmir Zone, IG CRPF (KOS), IG CRPF (Srinagar Sector), Range DIsG of J&K, DIG SSB Srinagar, DIsG CRPF (South and North Srinagar), all district SSPs of Kashmir Zone, SSP PCR Kashmir, SP PC Srinagar, and other senior officers.
At the outset, officers briefed the DGP on the current security scenario, recent operations, and preparedness across their respective jurisdictions. Reviewing the existing arrangements, DGP Prabhat emphasized the need for greater synergy, efficiency, and readiness among all security agencies.
“Strengthening the security grid through advanced surveillance, effective inter-agency coordination, and proactive field engagement remains our top priority,” the DGP said, stressing on maintaining a high level of vigilance across the Valley.
He directed officers to set up dynamic and surprise nakas at strategic and vulnerable points to enhance area domination and deterrence. The DGP also instructed field units to ensure seamless communication and coordination between adjoining districts for real-time information sharing and quick response.
Highlighting the importance of operational agility, DGP Prabhat directed all districts to further strengthen their Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) with improved mobility, advanced training, and upgraded equipment. He also underscored the need to modernize and upgrade the police communication network to ensure secure and uninterrupted connectivity at all levels.
Concluding the meeting, Nalin Prabhat reiterated the importance of professionalism, alertness, and people-friendly policing while maintaining the highest standards of operational preparedness across Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
