CM Omar Abdullah mourns Dharmendra’s death, calls him a friend of J&K
Srinagar, Nov 24 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday condoled the death of legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, describing him as “a friend of J&K” whose contribution to Indian cinema “will never be forgotten.”
Paying tribute, Omar Abdullah said people of his generation had grown up watching Dharmendra’s films and were deeply saddened by his demise.
“Dharmendra was a friend of J&K; his contribution in Indian cinema will never be forgotten. People of my age have grown while watching his movies. His death is a big loss to Indian cinema,” Omar Abdullah told reporters according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).
He recalled that the veteran actor had a special bond with Kashmir and had visited the Valley several times, not just for film shoots but also for vacations.
“He used to come to Kashmir not only for movies but also for his holidays,” Omar Abdullah said, adding that the actor’s passing has left a void in the hearts of film lovers across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir. (KINS)
