BJP reviews functioning of ST & minority morchas in Kashmir

Srinagar, January 10 (KINS): J&K BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, along with General Secretary Anwar Khan, on Saturday addressed separate meetings of the ST Morcha and Minority Morcha office bearers and district presidents at the BJP Office, Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar. The meetings focused on reviewing organisational functioning, strengthening Morcha-level coordination, and preparing party cadres to meet upcoming political and social challenges in the region.

J&K BJP Secretary Mudassir Wani, Media Incharge Kashmir Sajid Yousuf Shah, All Cells Co-Convenor Bilal Parray, besides other senior leaders and Morcha functionaries, were present on the occasion.

Addressing the meetings, Ashok Koul said that Morchas are vital instruments for ensuring inclusive political participation and social empowerment. He stated that the ST Morcha and Minority Morcha carry a special responsibility to bridge the gap between the party and diverse sections of society by understanding local aspirations and addressing genuine concerns at the grassroots level. Koul emphasized that the BJP’s commitment to Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas must be reflected through sustained engagement, issue-based advocacy, and constructive dialogue with communities across Kashmir.

He further stressed the need for Morcha leaders to act as effective communicators of the party’s vision, policies, and developmental agenda, while also providing timely feedback from the ground to the party leadership. Koul called upon the Morchas to work in close coordination with district units to strengthen booth-level structures and ensure organisational readiness.

Speaking on the occasion, Anwar Khan highlighted that a disciplined organisation and proactive leadership at the Morcha level are essential for the party’s long-term growth. He said Morchas must focus on capacity building of their office bearers, maintaining regular interaction with the public, and highlighting the BJP’s consistent efforts towards peace, development, and social justice in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that unity of purpose and clarity of approach would further consolidate the BJP’s position among all sections of society.(KINS)
