Srinagar, Oct 18 (KINS): Karnal Police said an altercation broke out between the drivers of a bus and a private car near Divine Star Dhaba in Karnal district on October 17, 2026, at around 10 PM over a parking dispute.
According to police, the argument escalated, allegedly resulting in damage to the bus’s windowpanes and injuries to one passenger. Two men, identified as Mohit and Sawan, residents of Karnal district, were detained.
Police said no formal complaint was initially filed as both parties reportedly reached a mutual compromise, following which the bus continued its journey towards Srinagar.
However, after a complaint was submitted by the manager of Divine Star Hotel/Dhaba, an FIR was registered at Police Station Butana. The car involved in the incident, bearing registration number HR05BQ2412, has also been taken into police custody.
Karnal Police clarified that the incident stemmed from a parking dispute and stated that there was no hate-crime angle involved. Further legal proceedings are underway, and the public has been urged not to believe rumours circulating on social media.(KINS)
