Srinagar, May 01: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari, welcomed the recent decision by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to defer the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking on the matter, Bukhari emphasized the necessity of the decision, citing adverse weather conditions that have significantly disrupted transportation in the region.
Bukhari highlighted the challenges posed by the closure of the Mughal Road, making it exceedingly difficult for candidates to access the area and for people to attend political rallies.
He stressed the importance of ensuring equal participation in the democratic process, stating that every citizen’s vote holds significance.
“In democracy, everyone’s vote is important,” remarked Bukhari, expressing his support for the ECI’s decision. He underscored the need for fair and inclusive electoral practices, especially in regions where adverse weather conditions hinder accessibility and participation.
