Srinagar, June 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, expressed his heartfelt joy and excitement over his visit.
“Today, when I was preparing to leave from Delhi to Srinagar, I was filled with joy, and I was wondering why I was so excited. Two reasons caught my attention,” PM Modi shared with the audience. “First, the event is linked to projects related to the development of Jammu and Kashmir. Second, this is my first meeting with my brothers and sisters from Kashmir after the Lok Sabha polls.”
The event marked an important occasion for PM Modi to engage directly with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to highlight the government’s ongoing commitment to the region’s development. He emphasized the significance of the projects aimed at empowering the youth and transforming the socio-economic landscape of the state.
PM Modi’s visit comes amid tight security measures, with top officials from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other security agencies overseeing arrangements to ensure a smooth stay. The Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre and its surroundings were heavily guarded, featuring visible security personnel, roadblocks, and extensive surveillance.
The Prime Minister’s address resonated with the local population, who have shown enthusiasm and support for the development initiatives.
The ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ event was a part of a broader series of initiatives designed to improve the quality of life in Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on education, infrastructure, and economic opportunities.
