IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi Reviews Law and Order Situation in High-Level Meeting at PCR Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 29 (KINS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi-IPS, chaired a comprehensive law and order review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Kashmir.
The session was attended by senior officials from the police, security forces, and intelligence agencies, including all range DIGs of Kashmir Zone, DIGs of CRPF South and North Srinagar, district SSPs of Kashmir Zone, and other key officers.
During the meeting, the attending officers provided IGP Birdi with an overview of the current security landscape, detailing the challenges and discussing intelligence gathering, preparedness, and response strategies. Each district SSP shared insights into the law and order situations in their respective areas.
IGP Birdi emphasized the importance of meticulous planning, monitoring, and preventing any potential disruptions. He directed the district SSPs, along with the Cyber Cell and IT & Social Media teams, to closely track social media for rumor-mongering and the dissemination of incriminating content. The IGP stressed strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and encouraged regular coordination meetings with the public to maintain peace in the valley.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to ensuring peace and security across the region, reaffirming the police and security forces’ dedication to upholding law and order while safeguarding citizens’ rights and safety.(KINS)
