Press Club of Kmr mourns demise of Devendra Singh Rana

Srinagar, Nov 01 (KINS): The Press Club of Kashmir expressed profound grief on Friday over the passing away of prominent businessman and BJP MLA Devendra Singh Rana.
Rana, who died on Thursday evening at a hospital in Faridabad, was remembered for his compassionate nature, his contributions to the community, and his dynamic role in both business and politics.
In an official statement, M Saleem Pandit, of the Press Club of Kashmir, described the late Rana as “a compassionate person who always extended help to those in distress.” Known for his humor and calm demeanor, Rana was a respected figure in public life. “He would rarely lose his cool,” Pandit remarked, adding that Rana’s warmth and openness made him a beloved personality across political lines.
Devendra Singh Rana’s diverse background included his early career as an engineer, having graduated from REC Hazratbal in Srinagar, before transitioning to business and eventually to politics. As a skilled orator and prolific writer, Rana was recognized for his eloquence in English and was often sought out for his insightful speeches.
He served as a political advisor to the former Chief Minister from 2009 to 2014, bringing his unique perspectives to the role.
“His sudden demise has left everyone in shock,” Pandit said, noting that Rana’s philanthropic efforts consistently placed him at the forefront of supporting the poor and marginalized. “May God bless his soul and offer strength to his family to bear this loss.”(KINS)
