Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 Breaks All Records: Unprecedented Customer Visits, Product Launches, and Seller Success

Srinagar, Nov 02 (KINS): The Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF) 2024 has officially concluded, breaking records across multiple metrics and setting new standards in India’s e-commerce landscape.
In a statement issued to news agency KINS, Amazon India announced today that the month-long shopping extravaganza, which started on September 27 with a 24-hour Prime Early Access, attracted an unparalleled number of customer visits, saw an unprecedented wave of product launches, and marked a major milestone for seller success.
With over 25,000 new launches across categories like electronics, fashion, home decor, and grocery, AGIF 2024 enabled customers to explore a vast array of choices. It also delivered a significant boost to sellers, with more than a 70% increase in those surpassing INR 1 crore in sales compared to the previous year. This year’s festival saw Amazon expand its delivery efficiency, ensuring more than 3 crore products reached Prime members within a day or two—a remarkable 26% increase from last year.

Record-breaking Seller Success and Customer Engagement
This year’s festival proved to be a game-changer for sellers, especially small and medium businesses. Over 70% more sellers crossed the INR 1 crore mark in sales compared to last year, while over 42,000 sellers experienced their highest-ever single-day sales during the event. Sellers from across India participated enthusiastically, with a significant portion hailing from tier 2 and below cities. Amazon reported that nearly 70% of the sellers in AGIF 2024 came from tier 2 and 3 regions, with a record number of sellers from these areas recording sales growth.
Highlights from Seller Performance:
Over 4,500 sellers saw a 10x sales increase compared to the previous year.
More than 7,000 sellers recorded a 5x sales boost, and 13,000 saw their sales double.
Women entrepreneurs, artisans, and weavers sold over 1,000 units per minute during the event.
Rise of Amazon Pay and Prime Memberships
Customers also embraced Amazon Pay in record numbers, with ICICI Bank credit card usage up 50% compared to last year and Amazon Pay UPI usage surging by 20%, primarily driven by users from tier 2 and 3 cities. The event also spurred notable growth in Amazon Prime sign-ups, with AGIF 2024 recording the highest single-day Prime memberships in its first 48 hours.
Key Stats on Payment and Prime Memberships:
Amazon Pay witnessed a 40% rise in gift card sales, and a doubling in the value of branded gift cards compared to 2023.
EMI options became increasingly popular, with 25% growth in overall EMI adoption and a 45% jump in No Cost EMI usage.
Prime members led in bill payments, contributing to a 30% rise in mobile recharges and subscription renewals.
Transformative Shopping Experience
AGIF 2024 underscored Amazon’s commitment to affordable shopping through a range of bank discounts and No Cost EMI options, making high-value purchases more accessible. Electronics were a major category, with one in four purchases made via EMI, and 80% of those being No Cost EMI transactions.
