Srinagar, Nov 9 – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has directed officials to intensify winter preparedness efforts to prevent public hardships, especially as the Valley faces additional challenges due to prolonged dry weather. Chairing a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat, Abdullah emphasized the need to ensure adequate electricity supply and mobilize resources to handle winter-related issues effectively.

In the meeting, attended by senior officials including CM’s advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, and other departmental heads, Abdullah urged strict measures to prevent any disruptions in essential services. Key discussions centered around maintaining adequate water supply amid low precipitation, ensuring electricity stability, and preparing for timely road clearance following snowfall.
