Srinagar Jan 23 (KINS): A 105-feet national flag has been installed at the premises of the District Development Commissioner (DDC) office in Baramulla.
In preparation for the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, DC Baramulla Minga Sherpa Thursday said extensive meetings and on-spot visits have been conducted to ensure the smooth execution of events across subdivisions, tehsils, blocks, and the district.
This year, in addition to the traditional flag-hoisting ceremonies, the district administration, in collaboration with the Indian Army, is organizing a special campaign titled “NoYOR Army,” which will include a display of weapons. Residents are encouraged to actively participate in the bird-chirping events planned as part of the celebrations, he said.
Speaking about the 105-feet flag, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Baramulla expressed gratitude to the Municipal Council for their efforts in making this possible. “This flag is not just for the DC office; it is a pride for all of Baramulla. The installation of the flag enhances the public space and signifies our commitment to the development of the district,” the DC said.
During a review meeting held earlier, the DC highlighted Baramulla’s achievements under the district Apex budget, the largest in Jammu and Kashmir. With over 1,900 developmental projects underway, the district is progressing steadily. Despite the chilly weather slowing down concreting works, the administration is optimistic about completing these projects in the coming weeks. (KINS)
