Peer Syed Mehdi Shah Shrine Inaugurated at Gohallan, Uri with Army-Civilian Collaboration
Srinagar, June 10 (KINS):Β In a powerful display of communal harmony and cultural respect, the Indian Army, in partnership with the local residents of Gohallan village in Uri, inaugurated the newly constructed shrine of revered Sufi saint Peer Syed Mehdi Shah on Tuesday.
The inauguration coincided with the saintβs death anniversary and witnessed an overwhelming turnout of nearly 1,000 devotees from nearby villages, including Salamabad, Dardkote, Gwalta, and Jabla. The solemn occasion began with a congregational Namaz, offered for peace and unity, setting a deeply spiritual tone for the ceremony.
The Indian Armyβs instrumental role in building the shrine was met with heartfelt appreciation from the villagers, who praised the Armyβs ongoing commitment to community development and cultural preservation.
