CM Omar Abdullah visits family of youth killed in Jammu, assures justice

Jammu, July 28 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday met the family of Parvez Ahmad, a 21-year-old youth from Nikki Tawi, who was killed in Jammu’s Satwari area.

Omar, accompanied by Minister Javed Rana and Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, offered condolences and assured the family of a fair and time-bound probe.

Parvez was allegedly killed in crossfire as police chased suspected drug peddlers. His family and the Gujjar community allege he was innocent and demand action against those responsible.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed. The CM said the use of force must be controlled and not indiscriminate.

National Conference leader Sheikh Bashir said justice will be ensured and strict punishment will follow if anyone is found guilty.(KINS)
