Javid Dar reviews progress of ongoing projects in Municipal Committee Watergam
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 6: Minister for Agriculture Production Department, Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, chaired a review meeting on progress of ongoing projects and works in Municipal Committee Watergam at civil secretariat here today.
During the meeting, the Minister stressed on the importance of expediting ongoing projects in various sectors, increasing transparency and accountability to ensure optimal use of resources. He urged officials to utilize unused funds for development works, as per given guidelines, to benefit the people.
Javid Dar emphasized on the J&K Government’s commitment towards making Jammu and Kashmir a prosperous state under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
During the meeting, Commissioner Secretary, H&UDD, Mandeep Kaur briefed the Minister on a spectrum of pivotal developments and upcoming initiatives aimed at transforming the urban landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting discussed about ongoing and new works undertaken under the Capex Budget 2025-26 (regular) in MC Watergam, including, Construction of Office Complex Near Town Hall Watergam, Open Air Gym Park at Gund Mulraj Ward No. 11, Development of Footpaths,Tiling and cobblestone work at various spots, Parking Place and Transport Yard at MC Watergam, Inner Link Development, at different wards of MC Watergam and Macadamization of Inner Links at MC Watergam.
The meeting was informed that Drainage Sector D/S Gund Kareem Khan Watergam (SASCI Project) and Construction of Deep Drain at Ward No. 1 & 3 is in progress.
The Minister advised officials to work in coordination with each other to achieve the goal of all-round development in MC Watergam.
The meeting was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sopore, Deputy Director (E&S) Urban Local Bodies Kashmir, Executive Engineer PWD(R&B), Executive Officer MC Wattergam, and others concerned officers.
