SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 08: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary today chaired a meeting to review the performance and functioning of Industries & Commerce (I&C) Department Kashmir.
Commissioner Secretary I&C, Director Industries, Managing Director SIDCO along with General Managers and senior officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on NCSS, pending cases, availability of land in Industrial Estates of Kashmir province and it’s allotment, details of functional and sick units, details of NCSS package, auction of Industrial Units along with revenue details and status of projects under Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI).
The Deputy Chief Minister also assessed the status and timely execution of industrial and infrastructure projects to ensure they are implemented transparently and efficiently.
He asked the concerned officers and authorities to ensure timely project completion, create investor-friendly ecosystems, support start-up entrepreneurs, and develop policies for improved trade and industrial growth.
Deputy Chief Minister emphasized on GMs to rigorously follow and pursue the cases of applicants under the norms so that benefits of incentives based schemes can reach every beneficiary without delay.
He highlighted that government under the leadership of CM Omar Abdullah is focused to make it easier for investors to set up industries by providing hassle-free services.
Deputy Chief Minister asked the officials of industries department for linkage with other departments like JKEDI, Mission YUVA, Employment, Banks and others, so that environment can be created for new startups and entrepreneurs for generating employment opportunities for others also. He also directed the GMs to look for availability of land for establishment of new industrial estates in every district for generating more job opportunities.
Surinder Choudhary directed the Industries & Commerce Department to adopt a proactive and inclusive approach in strengthening Jammu and Kashmir’s industrial ecosystem, with a special focus on employment generation, sustainability and competitiveness.
