Lack of rain and snow in Kashmir unsettling, special prayers to be held at Jamia Masjid: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq

Srinagar, Jan 07 (KINS): Expressing concern over the unusually dry winter in Kashmir, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday said that a season passing by with hardly any rain or snowfall is deeply unsettling and calls for serious reflection.

In a message on his social media handle X, as per news agency Kashmir Indpeth News Service (KINS), Mirwaiz said the absence of rain and snow should remind believers to turn towards Allah with humility and supplication, seeking his mercy and abundance.

Announcing a religious initiative, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that “special prayers will be held at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar this Friday, to pray for rainfall and snowfall in the Valley”.KINS)
