LG Manoj Sinha leads international yoga day celebrations at Dal Lake, calls yoga a path to healthy ageing

Srinagar, June 21 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended greetings to the people on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, emphasizing the importance of this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”
Lieutenant Governor said that in an era marked by rising stress and modern health challenges, yoga offers a powerful ray of hope and serves as a pathway to overall well-being. He urged people to take a step toward wellness by actively participating in yoga and committing themselves to a healthier lifestyle.
“True health means balancing the body, mind, and emotions. While modern life constantly pulls our attention outward through screens and stress, yoga teaches us to turn inward,” he said.
Highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage, Sinha expressed pride in seeing yoga, an ancient Indian tradition, emerge as a cornerstone of global health and wellness.
The Lieutenant Governor also lauded the enthusiastic participation of people across Jammu and Kashmir in the International Day of Yoga celebrations. He said yoga has the unique ability to unite people across boundaries and guide humanity towards a healthier and happier future.
Joining citizens at Dal Lake to mark the occasion, Sinha described the overwhelming response as a reflection of the growing awareness about the benefits of yoga and its role in promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.(KINS)
