Omar rejects Mehbooba’s ‘backdoor appointments’ charge, says truth will be revealed soon

Srinagar, June 26 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday dismissed PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s allegations of “25,000 backdoor appointments” in Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that the government would place the complete facts before the public within the next two days.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Abdullah termed the allegations baseless and accused the PDP of making illegal appointments during its tenure. He alleged that several backdoor appointments were made under the PDP-BJP government, including in the J&K Bank, and said investigations into some of those cases were still underway.

The Chief Minister challenged the PDP to produce even a single piece of evidence or name of any person allegedly appointed through the backdoor by his government, promising a detailed clarification if such proof was presented.

He said two senior ministers would soon address the media and present the government’s position with supporting facts.

Earlier, Abdullah joined Youm-e-Ashura mourners at Zadibal in Srinagar, where he distributed refreshments and paid tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). He said Imam Hussain’s sacrifice continues to inspire humanity and expressed hope that the traditional Ashura procession would eventually be restored to its original route.(KINS)
