Srinagar Police issues advisory, debunks false social media claims on Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar, July 04 (KINS): Srinagar Police has issued an advisory clarifying that false and misleading information is being circulated on social media claiming that buses carrying pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra were attacked and caught fire near Lal Chowk, Srinagar.
Police stated that the claim is entirely false and that no such incident has taken place. It further said that the viral video being circulated in connection with the Amarnath Yatra is unrelated and has been falsely linked to the pilgrimage.
Srinagar Police advised the public not to create, circulate, or share unverified or misleading content that may cause panic, disturb public order, or spread misinformation. It warned that strict legal action will be initiated against individuals found creating, sharing, or reposting false information in violation of applicable laws.
Citizens have also been urged to rely only on information issued through official government and law enforcement channels and to verify facts before forwarding or sharing any content on social media.(KINS)
