Bandipora, Aug 1 (KINS): Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking, Police on Saturday attached a residential property worth around ₹14.75 lakh in Sumbal area of Bandipora district.
According to police, the action was taken by Police Post Nowgam Sumbal after executing a confirmation order under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA).
The attached property is a double-storey residential house belonging to Nazir Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a resident of Check-i-Ganastan.
Police said the property was attached under Section 68F(2) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 29/2016 and FIR No. 159/2017, both registered under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Sumbal.
Police said the action is part of its ongoing campaign to dismantle the financial network of drug traffickers and curb the drug menace in the region.
They reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against those involved in narcotics-related activities and urged the public to support efforts to make society drug-free.(KINS)
