SRINAGAR, March 21: Amid tightening restrictions on people to prevent spread of Coronavirus across India, three scholars from Kashmir are said to have escaped a qurantine facility in Aligarh Muslim University.
The case has been reported from Aligarh Muslim University where three PHD scholar’s hailing from Jammu and Kashmir fled from UHS isolation ward on 18 March 2020, where they were kept for quarantine.
An order copy issued by Dean of Students welfare Aligarh Muslim University which lies with Kashmir Indepth reads, as per travel history of trio PHD Scholar’s of J&K , they had visited UAE from 4th March to 9th March 2020 and were admitted in UHS isolation ward at 4PM on 18/03/2020 for quarantine, are absconding from the hospital since 9: 45 PM on Thursday.
The official letter reads, the three scholars were identified as Azad Ahmed Wani PHD Scholar in ABEM, Mohamamd Iqbal Rather PHD Scholar in ABEM (supervisor Dr Rayees Ahmed ,respectively) and Bilal Ahmed Rather PHD Scholar in Botany (Supervisor Dr Asim Masood) both residents of Wagoora Baramulla of north Kashmir.
Meanwhile sources told Kashmir Indepth that authorities in Kashmir sounded a lookout for the three absconding PHD scholars who fled from isolation ward in Aligarh.
Deputy commissioner Baramulla Dr G.N Itoo while talking to Kashmir Indepth said the administration has succed to track-down them and tomorrow morning all of then shall be taken back to isolation wards for a proper quarantine.
