Former Minister calls on Lt Governor

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 30 ( KINS ) :  Former Minister, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha here at Raj Bhavan.
The former Minister submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lt Governor pertaining to operationalization of Eklavya Model Residential Schools and Tribal Research Institute; execution of Anas Irrigation project; construction of Kotranka-Khawas road, establishment of new Degree College at Peeri, construction of Degree College Kotranka etc. He drew Lt Governor’s attention towards the issue of the development of tourism sector in Rajouri-Poonch.
Discussion was also held on speedy implementation of Forest Rights Act.
The Lt Governor observed that the government is implementing the Forest Rights Act in letter and spirit, and is making several interventions aimed at safeguarding the rights and interests of the tribal communities.
The Lt Governor assured the former Minister that the genuine issues and demands projected by him would be taken up for examination and their early redressal.
