Srinagar, Aug 14 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday criticised Pakistan for claiming rights over J&K’s river waters, saying Islamabad cannot selectively claim sympathy for Kashmiris.
Responding to Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif’s remarks on the Indus Waters Treaty, Abdullah said J&K had suffered under the treaty and argued that the region should now be allowed to fully utilise its water resources.
He also condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, saying political differences should be addressed through democratic means rather than violence.(KINS)
