Srinagar, Sep 16 (KINS): The Kilo Force conducted a community outreach programme for the Gujjar and Bakkarwal community at Sultanpur Kandi, Bandibala, on September 15 as part of its ongoing efforts towards community welfare and inclusive development.
The programme focused on encouraging children to pursue education, guiding youth on skill development and career opportunities, and interacting with elders and community leaders on local issues.
As part of the initiative, solar lights were distributed among families living in dhoks to support children in their studies. Awareness sessions on various government welfare schemes related to healthcare, education and social welfare were also conducted.
More than 200 people from adjoining areas of Bandibala participated in the programme. The event also provided an opportunity for interaction between the Army and local residents, with the aim of strengthening civil-military relations and encouraging community participation in nation-building.
The Indian Army said its efforts beyond safeguarding the nation’s borders continue to convey the message of “Aman and Awam.”(KINS)
