BJP questions NC Government’s performance, seeks report card on Poll Promises

Jammu, Oct 16 (KINS): BJP spokespersons Dr. Tahir Chowdhary, G. L. Raina and Rajni Sethi on Thursday questioned the National Conference (NC) government over what they described as unfulfilled electoral promises and alleged governance failures during its two years in office.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP office in Jammu, Dr. Tahir Chowdhary said the government had raised public expectations through electoral promises but had failed to deliver tangible results. He questioned the progress on employment, 200 units of free electricity and welfare commitments, demanding accountability towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
G. L. Raina sought a comprehensive report card on the government’s performance, raising concerns over delays in Panchayat, Block Development Council (BDC) and District Development Council (DDC) elections. He said the delays were weakening grassroots democracy and also questioned the status of employment and electricity-related commitments.
Rajni Sethi questioned the implementation of promises made to women in the NC manifesto, including ₹5,000 monthly assistance to female heads of poor families, free public transport for women, 12 free LPG cylinders, enhanced marriage assistance, free education for girls up to university level and support for women entrepreneurs.
She also sought clarity on the delay in constituting a Women’s Commission in Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP leaders demanded a transparent and verifiable report detailing the status of major manifesto promises, the number of beneficiaries covered and timelines for fulfilling pending commitments.
They said the NC government must explain its performance and fulfil the promises made to the people during the elections.(kINS)
