Srinagar, Oct 22 (KINS): The Pritam Spiritual Foundation (PSF), in collaboration with the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, organised medical camps for differently-abled persons at Uri and Zangli Garrison in Kupwara from October 12 to 22.
The camps aimed to provide specialised medical assistance and assistive equipment to differently-abled people from Kupwara and adjoining areas of North Kashmir.
According to the organisers, 14 artificial limbs were fitted, 250 hearing-impaired beneficiaries received assistance, and 258 assistive devices and appliances were distributed free of cost among deserving individuals.
The initiative was organised in collaboration with the Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) and was aimed at improving mobility, accessibility and independence among beneficiaries.
The Indian Army said such humanitarian initiatives reflect its commitment to public welfare and community engagement in Jammu and Kashmir. The collaboration with voluntary organisations also helped extend specialised assistance to people in need.
The camps provided support to beneficiaries and their families, with the organisers emphasising the importance of ensuring dignity, independence and better opportunities for differently-abled persons.(KINS)
