Hunger strike begins in Gurez over demand for better healthcare facilities

Mir Aatif

Gurez, Oct 22 (KINS): Political activist Hamza Lone, along with local youth, has launched a hunger strike in Gurez Valley to demand improved healthcare facilities at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Gurez.
The protesters are demanding the appointment of a permanent gynaecologist, a fully functional operation theatre, and the establishment of a blood bank at the hospital.
Hamza Lone said these facilities are essential to ensure timely and proper medical care for the people of Gurez, who often face difficulties accessing specialised healthcare services.
He said the hunger strike would continue until their demands are fulfilled.
The protest seeks to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the healthcare challenges faced by residents of Gurez and calls for immediate steps to strengthen medical facilities at SDH Gurez.(KINS)
