Kishtwar wears a deserted look as curfew enters fifth day

Srinagar: Kishtwar of Jammu division of the state remained under thick blanket of forces imposing curfew for fifth day. The curfew was imposed by authorities after a senior BJP leader and his brother was killed by suspected militants.

While curfew was relaxed for a brief time, for two hours on Saturday and four hours on Sunday, high speed internet remains suspended.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has said that the killers of BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet have been identified.

The curfew was, however, lifted from Doda district, including the main town and Bhadarwah along with Paddar and Chatroo sub-divisions of Kishtwar district on Saturday, but Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) continued to remain in force in these areas as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.
