DEO Baramulla holds meeting with political parties

Baramulla, March 14:District Election Officer Baramulla Dr.G.N.Itoo convened a meeting of the representatives of various political parties at Dak Bunglow Baramulla today to sensitize them about the rules, regulations and guidelines of Election Commission of India with regard to the elections.

The DEO apprised the representatives of the political parties about the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and urged them to follow the guidelines in letter and spirit.

The DEO informed that all the arrangements have been put in place to ensure free, fair and transparent Elections in the district.He said that various Committees have been constituted to check the implementation of Model Code of Conduct, and these Committees have been briefed about MCC besides their role in monitoring the expenditure, putting up of flags, banners and other things.

The DEO sensitized the representatives about the types of activities which they are allowed under Model Code of Conduct.They were also informed about the activities which they are not allowed in MCC.

The representatives were also made aware about the initiatives of ECI which include; Citizen Vigilance App, through which the Voter can inform ECI, if anyone finds any violation of MCC in the Elections would enable people to Lodge complaints.
