03 drug peddlers arrested in Anantnag

March 20: Three persons were arrested today in South Kashmir’s Anantnag District following an action against those involved in drug peddling.

Three persons identified as Mohammad Ashraf Shah son of Abdul Qayoom Shah resident of Kadipora Anantnag, Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohmmad Sheikh resident of Najigund Anantnag and Abdul Rahim Lone son of Mohammad Abdullah resident of Hawoora Mishpora involved in drug offences were arrested during a checkpoint at Arwani Bijbehara NHW.
Officers at the checkpoint have seized 60 grams of heroin (Chitta) from their possession.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in the matter.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep your society free from the scourge of drug menace.
